
Karal is the visionary and Creative Director behind Ashangali Events. With more than 20 years of experience in event design and décor, her journey began in the early 2000s as a passionate hobbyist and has since evolved into a refined, full-service brand known for exceptional attention to detail and elevated client experiences.
Her creativity, intuitive sense of design and genuine care for her clients allow her to craft events that are both visually stunning and deeply personal. Every celebration is thoughtfully designed to reflect her clients’ unique stories and styles, turning meaningful moments into unforgettable experiences.
Known for her discerning eye, listening ear (to capture subtle personalization) and meticulous standards, Karal designs experiences that embody sophistication, personalization and joy.
With a background of over 19 years in contract management and project management, she is able to lead the coordination of not only the aesthetics that make your event look good, but also the nitty-gritty behind the scenes work to pull all players together for a seamless event.
Karal is even in the process of creating a self-paced course that shows hobbyists (or unstructured event decorators) how to go from serious hobby to sustainable business.
FUN FACT: Karal was raised in Waldorf, MD, left for 20 years and came back ready to give back to the community that poured into her. Those local ties plus ties from living in various parts of the DMV (DC, Maryland and Virginia) continue to play a factor in the continued growth of her business.

JASON has over 20 years in operations and management of multimillion dollar companies, and brings that business operations expertise to the Ashangali team. He is also part of the Logistics Team.

SHARONDA is part of the Logistics Team, and assists in setting up and breaking down our events. Although behind the scenes, she has a keen eye for design and detail.

DEBORAH is part of the Logistics Team, and assists in setting up and breaking down our events. She knows the power of teamwork when working to get events in place.
ALIYA is the "ali" in Ashangali. She helps out wherever needed for preparing for, setting up and breaking down events.
ANGELINA is the "ang" in Ashangali. She has a keen eye for design and provides creative design elements for some of the events. She helps out wherever needed for preparing for, setting up and breaking down events.
ASHLEY is the "Ash" in Ashangali. She helps out wherever needed for setting up and breaking down events.
